We are proud to be accredited by The Soil Association and have been a fully organic bakery since we started. Alan Davis was at the forefront of the organic food movement in the 1990s and 2000s winning numerous awards and recognition as well TV appearances with Rick Stein and Rosemary Shrager.
Our factory in the Gloucestershire countryside does not have a production line in sight. We bake all of our goods using traditional methods. Baking hundreds of loaves every day, you do need large mixers and ovens, but each loaf is kneaded, left to rise, knocked back and shaped by hand.
All of our ingredients are organic from the flour in the white sliced to the cognac in the Christmas puddings. We keep records and have full traceability of every sack of flour or bottle of sunflower oil that comes through our doors. We have worked with our suppliers for many years and do our best to source locally where possible.
